A bit about me...

The name's, Amy. I'm an award-winning writer and Trauma of Money-Certified social good enthusiast based in Austin, Texas. I've made the violet crown my home base for almost 15 years, but work with clients all over the world. I have a deep love of alliteration, am proficient at penning puns, and enjoy collecting compliments about my DOG-ter, Gitzy.

I originally cut my teeth as a Media Relations Coordinator for an affordable housing nonprofit. For the past nine years, I've focused on helping a diverse roster of mission-oriented organizations broadcast their message and craft communications for their communities. Whether copywriting for national non-profits like Susan G. Komen, curating content for kingpins like Google Play Music, or getting techy with the likes of Dell Education and HP Sustainability, I'm reliably enthusiastic about purpose-driven, humanitarian-centered work and love championing social entrepreneurs and social good causes. Noteworthy bylines include Forbes, AMEX Open, Teen Vogue, Southern Bride, Texas Lifestyle Magazine, Industry Today, and BBB Magazine.

I have also helped my nonprofit clients secure more than $2M in grant funding, and lead focused campaigns to expand the reach and imapct of their programs.

How Can I Help?

Putting pen to paper is my speciality, and I've wielded words in almost every direction:

I’ve hired Amy for a number of writing and editing projects at my company, and there’s a good reason we keep coming back to her! She’s an incredibly talented, relentless worker who is able to compose and edit high-quality content about a wide variety of topics.

Everything Amy submits is polished, well-written, and well-researched. Even when I’ve given her last-minute topics or assignments about niche subjects, she has consistently pulled through on time with fantastic content. I would highly recommend hiring her for any of your writing or editing needs.

Amy is absolutely at the top of the freelance writing game. Her words are so musical even for the blogs she writes for me on uninteresting, boring topics! I’m so glad to have her as part of my writing team and she’s always up for any assignment with quick turn-around. Errors? You won’t find any. She is also a dedicated researcher and quick to point out something she finds iffy. I hope Amy has a long-term relationship with my company!

Amy Haley is the kind of employee that any boss in a creative field dreams about: Enthusiastic, timely with her deadlines, imaginative, and incredibly self-starting.

I’ve worked with Amy as a music contributor to Austin Eavesdropper, and for almost every post she wrote, she provided a playlist, a write-up of the playlist’s theme, and in some cases, a band interview. Amy initiated almost every single post HERSELF, without waiting for me to assign one to her — and they were always in line with Austin Eavesdropper’s core demographic and readership, not to mention written in Amy’s lovable, signature style. This is a testament not only to Amy’s passion (she loves to highlight and promote quality musical talent), but also a testament to her professional drive. Also, I am constantly amazed by how effectively Amy networks, from setting up meetings with various media outlets to grabbing coffee with entertainment-based PR firms! A person like this is lucky, because she could go either the media route or the PR route, having a skill set in both — and either field would be immensely lucky to have her. This is a future star in the music industry that any business would be wise to snatch up ASAP.

Her initiative and attention to detail has made her a natural in the PR field. Her work ethic and positive attitude has made her a pleasure to work with. She is great!
